USES: A fantastic compact culinary addition to any patio or garden, creates a stylish pot plant for the courtyard, high rise balcony or patio. Nutritionally limes are a very good source of vitamin C, dietary fibre, and calcium, iron, copper, and are low in sodium. Due to the high vitamin C levels and antibiotic properties they are a natural way to assist the prevention of gum disease and to ease bacterial infections and colds. Limes are extremely versatile; they are highly valued in cooking for both their juice and zest. They are fantastic for drinks, seafood dishes, chicken, meats, deserts, cakes, biscuits and marmalade. Juice of limes may be frozen for later use for a period of up to 3 months.

CHARACTERISTICS: Non grafted variety that fruits from a young age.

FOLIAGE: Leaves are a lot smaller the traditional Lime.

HABIT: Compact growth habit when in a pot, produces full size juicy fruit.


HARDINESS: Frost tolerant, humidity tolerant, handles wet and dry conditions. Has a very versatile climatic range grows successfully from Melbourne up to Darwin over to Perth.

CULTURE: In a large pot use a high quality potting mix.

POSITION: Prefers full sun to part shade (well lit patio).

CARE: An applicationof Citrus fertiliser early autumn and spring is beneficial.

WATER: Very low water requirement once established in ground. If in a pot keep moist and water when required.

CHARACTERISTICS: Highly aromatic!  So there is no need to denude plants to supply sufficient foliage for your kitchen needs.
 

FOLIAGE:Attractive silver green foliage, leaves are shorter than the traditional more upright officianalis with cylindrical rosettes. 

HABIT: The growth habit of Chef’s Choice™ is also something to talk about. Considerably more compact than Officianalis,it forms a rounded clump, this makes it ideal for herb planter boxes, pots etc.

HARDINESS: Frost tolerant, prefers full sun and good drainage, other than this it's practically full proof and tolerates neglect.
 

CULTURE: Prefers an open, free draining, quality potting mix.

POSITION: Prefers full sun.

CARE: An application of slow release fertiliser seasonally will promote vigorous fresh growth.Due to this compact growth, clipping sprigs for cooking creates a beautifully shaped plant which provides real longevity for practical use.
